Splendid Productions
Splendid Productions are theatre makers with nearly 20 years’ experience of touring low-tech, high-impact theatre. We tour creative adaptations of classic texts to schools, colleges and theatres across the UK, and this regular audience of over 15,000 per year has given us a base for establishing a strong theatrical identity creating work that appeals far beyond the education sector. In addition we provide a range of practical drama-based workshops and provide teaching resources that are sold across the world. Splendid are also now cited as influential practitioners by WJEC/Eduqas, EdExcel and OCR exam boards at both GCSE and A’Level. Students across the UK are studying the company, performing our adaptations and creating their own work in the Splendid style.
The company has performed in schools and colleges in the UK and internationally. They have performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the National Theatre’s ‘Watch This Space’ Festival, and are programmed at numerous theatres including MAC in Birmingham, The Pleasance London and The Lowry in Salford.
Splendid have most recently collaborated with Shakespeare’s Globe to create new summer family shows: The 2025 Olivier Award Nominated ‘Rough Magic’ (2024 & 2025), The 2023 Olivier Award Nominated ‘Midsummer Mechanicals’ 2022 & 2023.
